Cork Glide-in Aug bank holiday weekend
« on: July 23, 2022, 08:24:00 AM »
Hi everyone,

apologies for the delay, we will be hosting a gliding weekend in Cork next weekend, Flat field tow, winch or bungee will be available. If the conditions do not suit well we have several slopes within 1 hour drive. The aim is the flat field though.

Pop a message here if interested.

See you next weekend,

Ralph

Sorry Ralph. I'm on duty here over the weekend and will not be able to get away. Looks like there might be some good conditions. Have fun.

Sorry Ralph, won't make it down. Not really up to driving that far on my own at the minute.

Do we have a Sept date for Mt Leinster yet?

Hi Bill,
no worries, I hope to have a date after talking to Fred this weekend.

Our plan is Kinsale tomorrow afternoon for some slope flying if anyone is interested in starting proceedings early. Saturday will be based at Brinny, thanks to Cork Model Aero Club and its members where we will fly electrics, bungee and winch for the day. Our big tow plane is out of action so models no more than 3m will be towed using our Funcub XL. BBQ and Apero will be provided on Sat. Sunday is the guests choice with Kinsale looking good for more slope flying.,

Hope to see you over the weekend,

Ralph

Well you all missed a great weekend. The Cork club along with Kevin and Eoin and Fred. A damp and dirty start to our saturday but plenty of fun and games. I flew my MPX Funray several times, Kevin and Eoin broke out the new MPX Funcub NG and Fred with several electric models along with his Lentus.

The BBQ was fired up on both days with no complaints from anyone.

Sunday was Fred, Brian (the landowner) and myself. Lovely hot day with Fred doing some IC flying rekindling his youth (long lost!!!)

Plenty of Thermal flying with Freds Joker and the 2 Lentus belonging to Fred and me.

The only thing missing was more people, but to be honest, probably my fault for late confirmation of the date.

3rd and 4th of Sept for our final meeting, hoping to catch a bit of nice weather

Many thanks to CMAC for the use of their site, great hosts as always
