Bonding wood veneer to EPP core

Okay guys,………….Thinking of wings,…………what is the best type of glue for bonding a wooden veneer to an EPP core?  :?:

Hey Keith,

Epoxy or PU, you're choice  

Bagged will be best, or loads of weight!
Careful with the epoxy, as that need a certain temperature to work well (avoid doing that below 18degrees, or use a heat box).

If it's a smallish wing, epoxy 30mins will work well if you prepare everything really well (I use 30 mins epoxy for the wazeco as the wings are pretty small)

Vacuum bag and ash25 wings... Getting there!

Thanks Fred, I’ll use PU I think, I like the way that it permeates into all the little “nooks& crannies” of the foam to get a good ‘grip’ on it.

Don’t have a Vac Bag system here, I’ll use plenty of weight. (25Kilo sack of horse feed) :lol:

That should do it fine !  

Just remember to put a very very thin layer of PU, otherwise your sheeting will certainly do some "waves"!

Gorilla glue can now been find at Homebase, a bit thick, but works great!

You can also wet the wood slightly (I use a sponge, barely wetted) to help the foam process, but same, not too much!
