Well, after a looonnnggg break, it's time to go back to work !

This time, with the canopy frame.
The frame is made of 4mm diameter brass tube. Everything is solded using good quality solder.
The wood is protected with aluminium fold, and everything is solded in place. That will allow a perfect fit of the fram to the fuselage.

Et voila !

Looking good. Just some finishing touches to be made, and clean the frame.

Tight fit on the fuselage. Looking good. all that, for a little 2hours of work !

I also have glued the V-Tail mounting/Support to the fuselage (no photos) and I'm shaping the nose cone.
Fuselage almost ready for covering !  :D

Thanks Anthony ! Me too !!  :D
A step closer now !
So, after a long break, this week end was Ka3 time !
The fuselage is now finished, and need to be covered.
Some detailing has been done and need to be completed (a few details like the harness, control yoke etc etc)

The paint is a spray "stone effect" from the local DIY shop. Great effect, and hide all the defects !

The struts support on the fuselage were also glued. Made from 1.5mm aluminium. I also made some guides for the pushrods... The servos are in the cockpit, and it's a bit of a long way to get to the V-Tail !

And here is the beast, ready for covering (after the building jig is removed ! Very handy to have this to work on the fuselage...)

Next, the wings !
Servos, wirering and covering... Getting there !

Fred

    Well, I obey !

So, another step closer to the maiden flight ! And one thing I hate to do is now done ! Covering a fuselage like this is always a big pain !
Well, 4 hours of work to get there !

See the technicality of the thing !  :P  Ok, well, it's a bit cold in the garage...Well, that's my excuse...

So, 4 hours on, and here it is !

Look like a fuselage now ! Still very light ! I just have to add the batteries, but the final weight is there... :D
Next, the wings wirering for the servos...

Hi guys,
This is "DIACOV" from Diatex (the stuff used for the real ones).
Unfortunately, we learned last week that will not be produced anymore    :!:
If you find a stock, buy it quick (and let me know where!) ! :D

Well, nothing really to be reported... Just the lower wing sheeting to be completed before the final covering...
Did the canopy :

Thanks Alan  :D
I bought a can of Crown pure gloss white...
Tested on the V-Tail... :!:  :!:  Bad using a brush ! (waves on the paint... Too much surface to be painted..)

I'll go to homebase tomorrow, I'll check on a spray system... I let you know after I tested it, but can be a good airbrush system for cheap !  :D
I guess the first flight will be done without the paint job being completed...
