Well this is the best image of the eclipse I could get. Before the sky clouded over  . Taken just before 09.00 this morning. (maxima was around 09.30.)

Anyone get any better images?

Nice shot of the eclipse,  well done Sverrir.

Not quite sure why daylight sensors would turn light on?  Surely lights go off when there is enough daylight, don’t they? :?:

Probably something lost in translation! No Scarlett here though or I wouldn't be online writing this!

Daylight sensor is the name given to a photocell thingy that trips a relay when a certain amount of light is sensed, so usually they turn on the lights when it gets dark and turn them off when enough light returns.

Yeah, it got really dark didn’t it. (I noticed the street light didn’t come on in that sequence :?: ……maybe it didn’t use a light sensor switch! )

Here in southern Ireland it got darker during the transit but really, with the cloud cover here, it just seemed as though there was a thicker layer of cloud in the sky. The temperature reduced as well of course.

For us humans it wasn't dark enough to warrant any kind of street lights though the camera nearly went blind, which at those settings isn't that surprising.   ;)
