take -off dolly

has anyone got any plans or ideas for a good take-off dolly
i want one for the 1/3 ka3 , which has wing struts so cant rest wings on

Yeah, with the stuts, you will need a low one alright.

I look at that and draw up something for you real quick

And while I was at it, did one for "generic" gliders.
I tried to keep it as low as possible, as I think, in my view, the trolley you see are too high. Lower, more stability I think.

So, who will be the first to build one?

Ok, had a bit of time this week, end, so I did this

Does not look too bad! Have to find wheels for it, and I'll bring it with me at the Cork event as we may do aerotowing to give it a try

Anyway, trolley built and approved... On the bench!
Very little modification to make it even better, and off we go

hi gents here is my ka3 take off dolly
going to try out on tuesday so will hopefully get vid of it

this ka3 is no longer .....sadly
tried to aerotow , and not enough experience on my side
pulled up to much , snapped the line at all most vertical at about 6 metres up
wings all good and rear of fuse
so will have to build new front end

Sorry to come here after the action, but I don't understand why you need a dolly for a Ka3 ? I don't understand the problem with the wing struts ?
Most of times this sort of old gliders take off very easy and quickly, few meters, with a guy maintaining the wing horizontal for take off...

I wish you courage for the repair...

just wanted to make smoother as our field is a bit bumpy
the trolley worked fine , it was me who over imputted and pannicked , from behind it looked liked a dolphin rising and diving
we live and learn , repair is under-way

If your field is "bumpy", it's another reason not to use a dolly... Your dolly bump on the field, the glider bump on the dolly, twice the effects !
