Quick question.. For those who are coming, what can be a suitable easy meeting point for saturday ?

Macroom ?
I'll come down via Limerick, if you have another place...

I'll be coming up the other way - via Kealkill and Ballingeary.

Macroom is where I am to meet Ger Buckley et al on Sunday, methinks.
Must confirm this after venue is confirmed!

Ok, same here for Staurday, but after talking to Joe, we might meet together in Cork in the morning, then, heading to the meeting point wich need to be confirmed for Saturday.
Anyone else from Cork on Saturday morning ?

Coming from central Kerry, I tend to drive on the N22 to Ballyvourney, and then turn right to go to Mweelin, as it is a better road.  The best meeting place then would be in the parking place of the pub/shop in Ballyvourney that is on the north side of the main Cork-Killarney road (The Mills Inn - ph. no. (026)45237) - that is the first business on the left hand side as you enter Ballyvourney from the Killarney side.

Brian Coombs is also thinking of joining us if we go to Mweelin, but, like me, he can only do a half-day.  I would be prepared to meet at lunch time, but I won't be able to make it earlier.

Ron, do you know how to get directly to the Mweelin spot?

Fred, in my opinion, there is a lot of room for big models at Mweelin.  There is a lot of turf cutting there, so it is all bog, which mostly has soft grass.  The main hazards are areas where the bog has been cut away, resulting in some ditches and ridges, but it is all peat, no rocks.

Ho! No rocks.
Not like the Sheep's Head then which is all rocks and no bog.
Well... not much bog.

Yes I can get directly there (I hope). Got it on the gps prog on the laptop.

Hello all
I'm going to head down early on Saturday morning and get some flying in while the weather is good, just in case. Will stay over Saturday night and hopefuly the weather will not be too bad on Sunday. Looks like Fred is doing the same!

Well guys, it looks like the wind on Sunday is definitely swinging to north-westerly, after the rain, which looks like it should be over by about 11:30ish.

Thats means we will be going to Rossbeigh Hill, overlooking Rossbeigh Beach, which is next to Glenbeigh.  Glenbeigh is the first town after Killorglin as you travel west along the Ring of Kerry road.

Probably the most central spot for all to meet is outside Moriarty's Centra shop in Farranfore.  Impossible to miss, as Farranfore is a town of only about 8 business buildings!  It lies half-way on the N22 between Killarney and Tralee, there's no by-pass.  I suggest we meet in the parking lot at 10:30.

Some of us will also be going to Mweelin today to fly in the sw.  Fred, Joe, Ron, please give me a buzz!

My mobile no. again is: 087 929 7071

Excellent! Photos Ron.
I've started a new album in the ISR gallery for Kerry/Cork. Be great if you added them.

Having problems with my internet link at the moment.
Chap called today but couldn't fix it.
I'm trying to add Chris's pics, but it's got all fouled up.
Got some very amateur video too, but with the internet access the way it is that will have to wait.

Ron.

Fantastic photos, Ron!  That shot of Joe launching the Opel RAK is pure joy!  And those in-flight shots are really, really difficult to get! Nothing wrong with your auto-focus there!

I see you've managed to add the photos from Sunday to that link now as well!

Yes only just.
There's supposed to be bigger versions as well if you click on the small ones, but I can't get all the bigger files to upload.
And the video is a no-hoper at the moment.

Lets hope they can sort this internet link tomorrow as it's driving me crazy.
As if I wasn't crazy enough already
